Minca Tour: Cacao, Coffee, and Waterfall
13 km from Santa Marta, we’ll find Minca, the ecological capital of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. A 50-minute drive will take us to this destination, located 700 meters above sea level. We’ll begin with a hike to an artisanal and peasant farm to experience the coffee industry (planting, harvesting, production, pulping, and roasting).
We’ll enjoy a cup of freshly brewed coffee and then continue with a low-level hike to the town of Minca and then to the planting area, crossing the river to reach the spectacular 30-meter-high Cascada Escondida waterfall. We’ll have time to enjoy a refreshing swim and capture photos and videos of this unique moment. Then, we’ll begin a medium-level hike to Casa Jocolate, where we’ll be greeted with the utmost service and warmth.
We’ll enjoy a delicious homemade lunch (vegetarian and vegan options available) and relax in the hammock areas. Finally, we’ll begin the cacao workshop, where we’ll taste 6 different presentations, including a chocolate cup and mask, and create our own chocolate bar. We’ll return to Santa Marta via the same route.
